You can call it yogurt toast or custard yogurt toast, but what this really is a fruit tart, with toast for a crust. It's the coolest breakfast hack we've seen in a long time- the toast works GREAT as the crust, and the filling only has 3 ingredients: yogurt, egg and maple syrup- the breakfast trifecta! It's amazing how it sets up in the oven just like a real custard. You can top the tart with fruit (we love berries) or even chocolate chips, if you're having a morning where you need some chocolate to properly start your day. It's yummy, easy and it looks pretty, too! Thanks, @cookingwithayeh! Check out our video below for all the details, or use the print version, if you like that better!

Fruit Tart Toast

2 servings
20 minutes

Ingredients

1 large egg

1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt

1 tbsp. pure maple syrup

2 slices white bread

Instructions

Heat the air-fryer to 350°F.

Beat the egg, yogurt and syrup in a bowl with a fork or whisk until well blended.

Press down the centers of the bread slices, to make square-shaped indentations. Place the bread slices into the air-fryer basket.

Spoon the yogurt mixture (3 to 4 tbsp. each) into the indentations . Arrange fruit or chocolate chips on top.

Air-fry for 15 min. or until the edges of the toast are golden brown and the custard is set. Eat warm or chilled- great either way!

Can I double this recipe?

This recipe is easily doubled. Double all ingredients, and if you have a smaller air-fryer, air-fry in batches.

Can I make these in a regular oven?

Yes! Heat the oven to 350°F. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 min. or until the edges are golden brown and the filling is set.
